Friday night Rick and I decided to go for a hike on Saturday. Trail of choice: Spike Camp, a round trip hike of 7.2 miles out of Staircase....went went a ways past our destination to add to our adventure.
(obviously Rick didn't tell me my shorts were up my butt!)
There were quite a few logs along the way that had fungi growing on them, but not quite like this.

We stopped here to cool off our hot feet. We had to crawl down a bank to get here, but oh was the water "refreshing"!

We had a really nice time. Even though it was incredibly hot yesterday, most of our hike was in the trees with just a few spots where we were directly in the sun.
Yes, we actually do stop and "smell the roses" because after all "It's not about the destination, it is about the journey" :)
